Cube 2: Sauerbraten 8
Show Details   Web page   Email author   Read Reviews   Review or Rate this Engine Rating: (5 votes) [Edit] Edit
Sauerbraten (a.k.a. Cube 2) is a free multiplayer/singleplayer first person shooter, built as a major redesign of the Cube FPS. Much like the original Cube, the aim of this game is not necessarily to produce the most features & eyecandy possible, but rather to allow map/geometry editing to be done dynamically in-game, to create fun gameplay and an elegant engine. The engine supporting the game is entirely original in code & design, and its code is Open Source (ZLIB license, read the docs for more on how you can use the engine).

Destiny3D 10
Show Details   Web page   Email author   Read Reviews   Review or Rate this Engine Rating: (1 votes) [Edit] Edit
Destiny3D is a low-cost engine being developed by people interested in helping build the independent games scene. The features listed here are currently implemented, and many more are still pending, including high-level shaders, shadows, more advanced physics, OpenGL renderer, cross-platform support, more powerful animation, and a more sophisticated rendering subsystem. The subscription-based license is similar to the LGPL, with modifications being released only to the other subscribing members instead of to the general public. Subscribers get full source code to the engine and tools, along with responsive support and a somewhat gated community of serious developers.
