My friend(who does not make games) Was talking about rts games and how he thought they were great, I have never been a fan off them but anyway, He suggested a simple rts that would be about germs and cells, That would take itself so seriously it would be funny. Before I delve into the idea further I want get some feedback from some other people,. preferably rts and casual xbla players. Thanks

well, there could be nano machines, mutated germs, genes exchange, tumors... it aint bad indeed...
even the context could be worldwide instead of inside a body, like one side create the germs and manipulate its genes, and the other side create antibodies and nanites to cure people...

It's actually not a bad idea.
Using a concept like that would give you a game with simple rules leading to complex gameplay, like Defcon if you will.
I think this game,

could give you some design ideas, I just love it. So additcing :)

well If it's a game based on facts you can sell this game to doctors or student studying Biology or something related to doctor

I am not sure about an RTS but I know that a cancer patient that was a kid designed a game about fighting the cancer. I read about it in one of the side notes of a school text book awhile back.

An interesting twist that you could exploit is a dynamic-evolution mechanic. Due to the accelerated life-cycles of cellular material, you could plausibly present it as your army "evolving" to your gameplay style. As a player focused on a particular avenue of strategy, the army would slowly shift it's balance to favor that strategy at the cost of the weakening less-used functions/units.
Imagine the potentials of the multiplayer experience, especially if different regions were isolated much like the Galapagos Islands. Every now and then, the regions would be able to compete against one another, allowing radically differing and new forces to clash.
It would be an ambitious feature, but I'm fairly sure it would be a novel approach to the frankly monotonous RTS genre.
