I wrote a small article about l-system fractals, along with a couple of implementations for your pleasure. Read on at http://iki.fi/sol/lsys.html

Yeah L-Systems are fun :)
I remember an article where l-systems were used to generate buildings and city road-networks. Pretty cool stuff!

If anybody is seriously interested in the matter, consider buying this book :
http://www.amazon.com/Grammatical-Picture-Generation-Tree-Based-Theoretical/dp/354021304X/ref=sr_1_1/105-6272206-1150805?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1220107360&sr=8-1
It covers pretty much the current standard of grammatical picture generation. I can reccomend it. It's math heavy, concentrating more on proofs concerning tree generating grammars, but the author wrote a system to play around with the concepts, which is freely available from the author's website.
Btw: Why not release the article here... it will probably get greater exposure... And this site is in need of community love :) Especially in the form of articles.

Interesting, but rather pricey.

Because I like to keep my stuff on my site? =)
