I just found this on youtube and I thought it was pretty funky so here it is:

I can't help but feel there are subliminal messages in the video ;) He made a good mix of the classics. I have the sudden urge to play Burger Time and Excite Bike.

Remember how games and music programs (ones that played amiga mods i mean) used to play 2 bit waves by switching on and off the pc speaker at high enough frequency to create a distorted complex wave? (it could only make square wave forms)

That was cool.

Yeah, I made one of those mod players in early 90's on 10MHz 80286, phew!

Let me correct that, its actually 1 bit sound. :) hehehe
please to hear you wrote one of those... (i bet it took some real cool lowlevel calls) they were awesome back when you didnt have a sound blaster.

Yup, it was all in assembly with calls to some output port to control the beeper running in the timer interrupt IRQ0 (: Huge leap from that was Covox, which you made from resistors and plugged into the LPT port to make 8-bit sound, hehe.
