I think Devmaster should learn from your great list, and create a MODELS DATABASE. =)

I second that, and if possible, a free models database. Something besides teapots and rabbits might be nice once in a while ^_^

A free models database would be the best. I don't really like the idea of these model packs because they are in-between. They really can't be used for professional games because they would be too generic and they are generally a waste of money for free games. The problem with free model databases is that you don't know how many polygons were used, etc. They are made by amateurs that don't really understand the need for lower poly modeling. These model packs remind me of people paying to try to get books published, etc. It's just money lost. One more product of a hopelessly saturated market where the makers become the consumers.

Well yeah but if they're free its not like you're losing anything. Plus, it is possible to lower polycount on models with modeling softwares and you can even do it in directX most of the time (by saving a progressive mesh to a file).
