Hey guys. I have decided to build a huge virtual world online. Hence Global Simulation. I am making it all online, and using a series of games already out there to put it together via the web. It will simulate government, house, cars, stock market, bank...etc This is to be used as a PC Game version is developed and all of the aspects are orriginal. (Not useing any other games for it. All original) Plan on releasing it as freeware. Just wanted to know if anyone might be interested? Its on my personal testing server for now. . . Need graphic/programming help if at all possible.

You might get help but i doupt it cause project like that will never be finished! First: it's not original. I've heard for about ~50 other (ours was one of them ;)). Second, such project will require years of work and nobody is willing to spend 2/3/4/5 years in coding for nothing...

Not wanna say something bad or anything but, why don't you code a snake game before that just so you can see how a game is actually done?

Hmm, I get connection refused. At any rate, why dont you try someting simple like just implementing one of the parts. Then you can extend it later on to other parts.

I am actually working on something similar in my spare time (of which I have precious little) I limit myself to a city environment and concentrate on interactions among adult humanoids controlled by ai and the player.

I always thought it would be kinda fun in a game of Civ to slow down time for a bit and play a game of Sim City. The slow down time a bit more and play The Sims for an hour or so. Then zoom in even more and play Sim Ants. Of course this would have to be a single player game...

Well if all three of us are working on something. Why not just combine ideas, and make one big good one. Possibly sell too! ? Hmmm not sure about the server issue. I find it very diff. to run Apache with XP (SP2). Not very stable. Im working on building a server from scratch and throwing it in the basement. . .

Sure have, I make mods for http://orbitersim.com. Im also reading up on the Windows API. Touching up on my C++ skills with a couple more books. I purchased Torque and played with that for a bit. Server issue fixed...Firewall issues, but it works now. http://globalsimulation.no-ip.com/globalSimulation

Uhhh...ok, so let me get this straight...It's the ol' MMOLRPG with a 3 man team. But this time your going to simulate the WHOLE WORLD?!

I'm afraid even the power of the devil can't help you here.

How about starting by simulating a Hampster Ball rolling across the living room floor first, then work up from there ;P
