Has anyone ever played a button basher like Athens 2004 before? Well, i was just wondering about the physics and how it may relate to the three most simple physics formulae.

s=ut+1/2at^2
v=u+at
v^2 = u^2 + 2as

^ meaning "to the power of"

Can anyone help/explain?

from my limited physics knowledge, I do know that those equations are only applicable to linear motion with constant acceleration. Possibly in a straight line, I can't remember if those hold true with vectors.

Having not played the game, I'm just guessing, but perhaps it uses Newtonian physics: F = ma ?

They hold true with vectors if you apply the functions to each axis of movement. Anywho, in games like those they are usually just a weak estimate. They are mostly animated to look good, and then your button mashing just slightly changes the animation.

:happy: so thats what they do...

I was actually going to build a game -> Olympia Aura

It involved you getting up your stats so that when you ran the hundred meters the more times you presses v, the higher your velocity would be....
