Wirkle, a wirless technology startup in US is looking for people with expertise in application development in J2ME and associated technologies. The position is based in New Delhi, India.
JobProfile: Software Engineer, Mirage Viewer Development in J2ME
Summary: Software Engineer with experience in J2ME development, GUI development on handheld devices, algorithms and performance issues. The candidate should be able to work in a fast paced environment and willing to take on any engineering task that contributes to the progress towards the goals of the Company.
Essential Functions: Responsible for doing development in J2ME for mobile phones and handheld devices. Experience with GUI design in J2ME (MIDP 1.0 and MIDP2.0) will be given preference. Strong algorithmic and design skills are required for software optimization to address performance, database synchronization and communication issues.
Other responsibilities: Architect, design and develop new features and components for Wirkle products based on product requirements. Write product design, documentation and test cases as per Wirkle software quality standards. Optimize Wirkle products for maximum performance and reliability in a 24x7 environment.
Familiarity: Familiarity with Symbian, mobile syncing protocols, J2EE (JBoss, Websphere), RSS/RDF, XML, SOAP, TCP/IP, mobile networks, encryption and security is preferred.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science from a reputed college/university with at least 2 years of Java programming experience. Freshers with relevant expertise in Java may also apply.
