I actually took 4 years of German in high school, but I must admit I did have to Babelfish "forum rules" and "more considerate". Also, I watched the "Big Red One" the other day and have been wanting to call someone a pig-dog ever since. ;)
I love how Germans make new words by stringing together other words into absurdly large constructs. Maybe its just me, but I find a word like the award winning Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübert ragungsgesetz impressive. I think it has something to do with beef... I'll have to see what Babelfish can do with that one!

I figured out what it means. It was a law passed regulating beef imports from the UK because of mad cow disease. In English, Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübert ragungsgesetz is roughly translated to:
Transmission law of task of beef labeling monitoring
For some reason, the forum software keeps slapping a space in the middle of the word. There must be a 50 character limit. :(

Anyway, can you tell I'm porting some Mac OS9 programs written in FORTRAN to Windows today? It's real intriguing stuff that's firmly holding my attention! ;)
