Hi I'm a Sophomore in high school right now and im taking a very interesting course called Video Game Design. Right now we need to make a working game level using Unreal engine Editor 2 or 3D Game Studio, and i chose Unreal. But the teacher doesnt even teach the class anything!!! He doesnt even know how to use the programs!! Not only that, I'm the only student using Unreal, so I cant get help from classmates! So what I'm asking is for some resources, tutorials, or just tips for using unreal engine editor 2. I already have my level design and architecture done, so i just need to add some monsters, a player character, and some interaction with the level. The style of game im making is an action/adventure platforming game (like "Ratchet and Clank" or "Jak and Daxter" etc.) and the player needs to venture through a dungeon. The programs i can use in the class are Maya 5 (i know the basics of it), XSI Mod Tool, and 3D Games Studio. Heres a list of what i need help with:
-Adding Monsters with animations the player can attack
-Adding a player character with animations
-Models and animations for the player character and monsters (low poly count would be best)
-Map triggers like opening doors and pulling switches
-Making the player be able to do some kind of attack
-changing how high the character jumps
Thi is what i need. and i only need the bare minimum. I need to complete this level soon, and the teacher only wants a level that is built with lighting (i have that), a player character (other than the default box), and some level of interactivity (like killing monsters or flipping switches). I know I'm asking for alot but I will appreciate any help!!! I want anything from online tutorials, low polygon 3D models, or just explaining how to do certain things. Please help me this project is due very soon!
