NUDGE BALL

Welcome to the crazy wacky world of Nudgeball.

This is a first release demo version with the purpose of evaluating compatibility and playability issues.

Please forward to me any ideas you may have regarding the game, future additions to gameplay graphics ect.

I would welcome anyone who would like to help me develop this game further, ie, ideas, graphics, music, 3d meshes ect.

Features yet to be implemented are pickups ( different effects as well as the ability to shoot other players ) and different pitches.

How to play

The idea behind the game is similar to Football ( Soccer ) in that the main aim of the game is to kick the ball into the goal. When you achieve this you will see a color bar above your player increase. This also happens when you make contact with the ball to a lesser degree. So goal scoring gives the greatest reward.

When your color bar reaches it's maximum you will have won the game.

Gamepay hints

The person first to the ball obviously has an advantage, so anticipating the balls position and aiming for that is a good technique to follow.

Sometimes it's more advantagious to just run with the ball instead of trying to turn it around to make a run for the goal. The choice is yours.

If the ball happens to rest on the pitch boundary it's possible to run into the ball, head on which will flip the ball into the air back towards the goal. This is a sneaky technique to use when your infront chasing the ball with a crowd of players behind you. This will throw the ball back over all the other players allowing you to arc around them and gain posession again.

Goal hanging is another technique to use. Stay close or in the goal and when an opponent shoots, try and get a deflection off him. Alternatively you can goal hang for defensive purposes. If another player looks likely to win, you will want to prevent him from scoring or gaining posession.

System requirements.

Bog standard windows PC with Directx v7. :)

A summary of what the gameplay is like might be nice, it's not too clear from the screenshots.
