Hi all,

I'm proud to annouce: Galapago (http://get.games.yahoo.com/proddesc?gamekey=galapago)! It's the first commercial game using SwiftShader (http://www.transgaming.com/swiftshader), a Direct3D 9 emulator of which I'm the lead developer.

By default the game will use your graphics card, but you can enable SwiftShader in the Options menu by enabling the Software Device switch. On older systems without adequate Direct3D 9 card, it will automatically use SwiftShader.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers,

Nicolas Capens

Thanks! It's not the most advanced application SwiftShader can run, but casual games can greatly benefit from having a fallback renderer. My little niece is able to play the game without any 3D graphics card.

Is there a free download for the SwiftShader somewhere? I would be interested in trying it out.

You can download an old demo here (http://www.transgaming.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=33&meid=), or you can download the Galapago trial and rename SwiftShader.dll to d3d9.dll
