I'd suggest that if you have to ask a question like that, you'd be better off just buying one. Whatever a "remote assist programm" is
You might not even have to buy one, that are free alternatives that will give you some options.

Thank you for the seggestion ill look into it but i wanted to learn how because i want to get the VB network programming experions, but thankyou ill look into buying one

Its possible to allow remote logon to windows xp already. Click Control Panel, System then Remote and enable remote desktop.
As for visual basic network programming, I think that a remote log on would be quite a complicated thing to do. Try start out with something simpler. Perhaps a telnet service of some sort.
Again search google for lots of info.
