I dunno... The dxw is so tightly wound up with directx and windows that it would be a real pain to make it api independant and cross platform without having to break down the whole thing and rebuild it again. I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible and to keep out as much "not essential" features as possible - api independance and cross platform being one of them. But having another version of the dxw to play with could be nifty...
However how would you plan on getting the dxw api independant and cross platform, like what do you see having to be done to the current code? What needs to change? what needs to be added? Also, why not just make your wrapper around ogl/linux, and we can trade code or something. I can give you d3d code which you can convert to ogl and you can give me ogl code which I can convert to d3d and we can help eachother on the conversions. IM me and we can discuss this in detail if you want. k9eks at hotmail dot com |
