Not having an internet connection is killing me, and it is now unlikely that I'll have one for another three weeks at the very least. I hate having to come across the road to the internet cafe, which appears to have air conditioning that is running permanently. This might not seem so bad, but to put it into perspective: It was snowing the other day.

I don't know if any of you read my .plan entry, but the last thing I wrote was about my move to London. Well, i'm here! But, and this is a big But, I'm moving again in three weeks time to a brand new flat in Reading. I could go in to the whys and wherefores, but i won't - suffice to say that I think i'm suffering "Internet Withdrawal Syndrome"

I don't know if any of you have experienced this before, but I find myself lost for things to do in the evening. If I have nothing planned, I just do nothing. Play a little XBox, watch a little TV until it pisses me off so much because it's sh*t, but nothing productive. I know if I had an internet connection I'd be sitting at my computer(s) chatting to some people, coding and reading the news (and posting news to DevMaster of course!) but I've barely even sat down at my computer for the last two weeks or so, and when I do, I just randomly click around for a while before getting bored.

The thing is - I know that it is possible to work on my project without the internet, as there are plenty of little bits of code I should be writing, but it just seems that sitting down at the machine has lost all joy for me without a net connection.

Wierd.

Anyone else?

hehe, i konw what you are talking about. sometimes even the net bores me though... for me i think it's not really the net but media in general. two years ago i found myself only getting to sleep with music turned on or the tv running. anyway, go out and see some people. having no internet is a good chance to participate in the real life™ again ;D

That's the thing. My life has actually improved since I moved up here as I am actually closer to my friends etc. I do go out more than I did when I was living at home but I've found that my work rate has slowed to almost zero.

Ahh well - I'll just have to wait another three weeks....

Anubis: How's life treating you anyway?

mine was on my site, but I'm busy moving it so it's down at the moment . (Just for the sake of being picky).

yeh, it's a long story. baldurk.org was up for a couple of days but it's down now and probably won't be up again before the middle of next week.

It'll mainly be a place for me to showcase any code I'm doing, any writing I've done (articles etc). Also a place for me to post any rants I want to get off my chest.

You'll see once it's back up .
