Ambiera is looking for beta testers for their new 3D engine CopperCube. CopperCube is a 3D engine for Flash as well as for Windows: it creates interactive 3D scenes, everything from simple 3D panoramas to full games, as Flash .swf files or standalone windows .exe files. Candella Systems Ltd, a UK-based developer and publisher of videogames for the PC, consoles and handhelds has licensed Unigine engine. The first Unigine-based project by Candella Systems is already in development. THe company also plans to use Unigine technologies for their upcoming PC and console game titles.
Unigine is a multi-purpose technology, which can be easily adapted to various projects. This cross-platform middleware provides almost everything required for game developemnt out-of-the box: powerful 3D render (with support of all modern APIs: DirectX 9 / DirectX 10.1 / OpenGL), physics module, scripting system, GUI, sound subsystem, and tools.

FMOD Ex now Available for Torque Developers

GarageGames has partnered with Firelight Technologies to offer FMOD Ex to all Torque developers. FMOD Ex will be available for $99 and is compatible with the entire Torque line of game engines, including the latest Torque 3D engine.
FMOD features DSP Software Architecture, Advanced Compressed Sample and Streaming Support and the ability to create realistic soundscapes.

gDEBugger V5.0 Adds OpenGL 3.0 support

The new gDEBugger V5.0 adds support for OpenGL 3.0 and OpenGL's new deprecation model. A new Deprecated Function Statistics tab was added to the Statistics viewer. This tab displays information about deprecated functions and deprecated behaviors used by the debugged application. This tab also suggests forward-compatible replacements to each deprecated feature.
gDEBugger V5.0 also includes gDEBugger for Apple Mac OS X. This new product brings all of gDEBugger's Debugging and Profiling abilities to the Mac OpenGL developer's world.
gDEBugger, an OpenGL and OpenGL ES debugger and profiler, traces application activity on top of the OpenGL API, lets programmers see what is happening within the graphic system implementation to find bugs and optimize OpenGL application performance. gDEBugger runs on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems.

ShaderMap 1.3 is now available for download. Version 1.3 adds the ability to mix / blend an unlimited number of normal maps using the normal mixer tool. It also adds three new controls for generating displacement maps. ShaderMap is a tool for creating and converting common textures used in 3d rendering.

RakNet is now free for Indy developers. RakNet is a C++ open-source commercial network engine for games with features such as patching, voice chat, and a database driven lobby system. It is used commercially by major developers such as Sony Online Entertainment, Epic Games China, and Double Helix.

3D Rad now lets advanced users write script-based plug-ins for others to use as 'no-coding-required' objects.
Also new to this version is the ability to control individual bones of your skeletal-animated models, run-time. This can be used to implement interactive 'puppets' for machinima projects or physics-driven skinned ragdolls and soft-bodies.

SlimDX March 2009 Released

The March 2009 release of SlimDX is now out! This is a major release in terms of new functionality and improvements behind the scenes. Many missing corners were filled in, and several usability enhancements were made across the library on top of the standard array of bug fixes. A new DLL containing beta-level technologies, such as Direct2D and Direct3D 11, was added to showcase developing APIs. Performance is another issue focused on in the March release. After extensive testing, several improvements were made to the error handling infrastructure and math library, which showed significant performance increases across the entire library.
