Axial billboard

An axial billboard is a billboard that is constrained along a single axis. Normally, billboards rotate around two axes to face their viewer, giving the appearance of a small, spherical object, but axial billboards can rotate around only one axis, giving them the appearance of a long and thin object. Axial billboards are frequently used for "beam" effects, like lighting, lasers, or lightsabers.
