Gang of Four

The Gang of Four (or GoF), is a nickname of the group of four authors who write Design Patterns (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0201633612/qid=1127337887/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-5234764-9794413?v=glance&s=books&n=507846,). They are Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson and John Vlissides. Nobody knows why they are called so, but fact is that Design Patterns is an excellent book that tries to name well known solutions to common problems in software design.
