MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. It is used by many synthesizers and some other synthetic instruments to record and playback music in an editable format. It is one of the oldest and most widely supported music formats but, unfortunately, getting quality instruments and MIDI Sequencers (editors) requires considerable expense.
