Skeletal animation

From DmWiki

Skeletal animation is a form of animation for 3D models achieved by associating to the model a virtual "skeleton" (see also skinning), and animating the position of the bones in this skeleton (e.g. by keyframes). The application displaying the animation then calculates the locations of the vertices for each frame based on the positions of the bones.
