- Java should be mentioned. Jagex has made great progress with FunOrb and RuneScape, and other smaller Java projects are popping up. It is certainly a mature enough language at this point, and is no longer slow as many people still believe/remember from the Java VMs 10 years ago. Also, there are engines such as the JMonkeyEngine, JGame, and LWJGL, and JOGL and LWJGL both provide hardware accelerated 3D support via OpenGL. -Ricket 11:10, 9 Jun 2009 (CDT)
