XP (experience)

From DmWiki

In RPG games, XP stands for eXperience Points. Players gain XP by killing monsters, fulfilling quests, and performing other activities in the game world. In games that use classes, once a player character has sufficient XP, he/she is able to level up; in classless games, XP are spent directly on stats and other abilities.

The term XP came from the Dungeons and Dragons pen and paper roleplaying game, in which EP was used as a form of money.

XP is also refered to as EXP.
